Ali's Roti Shop: Authentic Trinidadian Cuisine in the Bronx

The customers that hold up the line are the worst part of coming here constantly asking dumb questions. There's a whole menu board of the food they serve and u have ppl asking about does oxtails have bones. Do some research on the food u want to get before wasting ppls time. Other than that nonsense the doubles here a pretty good and so is the curry chicken buss up

I am genuinely happy with the outcome of my visit here. I've tried many many trinidadian places in New York and so far this is up there as my number 1 spot. I went to get some doubles and pholourie first because we all know , if you can make good doubles, everything else should follow. The prices are incredibly fair, 2$ for a doubles and 2$ for 12! pholourie ( Little fried bread like balls with a dipping sauce) The taste of the food is great, It reminds me of home. I will definitely have to go back and try their other menu items in the future because their food is tasty, large portions and affordable. The service is quick and friendly as well and the restaurant itself has a nice feel to it with the decor. A+

The lady was nice over the phone and when I walked in place was very clean. The deserts look so nice and one with the red "red coconut cake" so good you can eat two. The pholourie are smaller then usual back in the day they looked like dumpling iykyk, they are bite size which are still devious and worth the price. The channa was good but could have been better, the sauce for everything was good. The potato was different but to soft for my liking for still a good appetizer. The epitome skin never dis a points i usually get mine on the side bc I eat all the skin before I finish the meat. If your else in the bronx this is the spot.

I absolutely love this place. I love Ali's so much that I travel from Connecticut all the way back to the Bronx to enjoy there food. I have enjoyed their boneless chicken roti for years. But now since they moved to their new location, they have added some delicious new options. I never had Doubles so good. Now the add chicken, or beef, or shrimp, you name it they probably add it. Delicious!!!!!! The customer service is thru the roof wonderful. The prices are very workable. All in all this is an amazing place through and through. If your ever in the Bronx and find yourself on Whiteplains Rd, make your way up to 235th street and check out Ali's. I promise you wont be disappointed....I give you my personal stamp of approval. This place is ELLERBY certified.

Best channa doubles I’ve ever had. The shrimp ones are really good too. And a must with the tamarind sauce. Just wish it wasn’t cash only cus I always forget that part lol

By far one of THE best roti spots in NYC yes I tired the others and can’t compete with the warm smiles and services at this place but a even warmer doubles dough and perfect combination of tang and spice if you choose to add the sauces / after that the rest is history the beef / succulent savory huge chucks the chicken the same way. I broke my fast to eat those meats to give yall this review so I’m telling you this place makes sure to always take the extra step to serve superior Quality and that’s all we really need in life is love and good food yall come try it oh and it’s cheep eats I bet Chaya I come here few times I month no cap update with pics

Hole in the wall restaurant with limited seating but an absolute gem when it comes to authentic Caribbean food. We’ve tried the boneless chicken roti and it was superb! These are family recipes and you can taste it. Great place, definitely recommend it!

Ali’s Roti Shop on White Plains Road is a solid Trinidadian Caribbean spot that really hits the mark. They have a great selection of doubles you can go with the regular chickpea version or add saltfish, shrimp, or chicken depending on what you’re in the mood for. The flavors are very good and taste authentic, just like proper Trinidad food should. Another big plus is how fast the food comes out, even when they’re busy. Definitely a go to spot in the Bronx when you’re craving doubles.
